Brault Deals Seven Scoreless as Curve Toss 15th Shutout of the Season

CURVE, Pa. - Steven Brault tossed seven scoreless innings as the Altoona Curve blanked the Trenton Thunder, 2-0, on Sunday night at Peoples Natural Gas Field.
The Curve (71-63) split the four-game series with the Thunder (69-64), closing out the regular season's final home game with their 15th shutout win of the year, extending a franchise record.
Brault (Win, 8-3) held the Thunder to three hits and did not allow a walk. In nine starts since July 18, Brault is 7-0 with a 1.10 ERA.
Jose Osuna broke the scoreless tie in the sixth with an RBI single and later came in to score on a wild pitch by Rookie Davis (Loss, 1-1).
Altoona reliever Brett McKinney worked out of a bases loaded jam in the eighth inning with a strikeout of Rob Segedin. Jhondaniel Medina (Save, 10) worked a 1-2-3 ninth inning to seal the shutout.
Adam Frazier finished 2-for-4 with a run scored and a double while Max Moroff went 2-for-3 with a double.
With eight games left in the regular season, the Curve sit three games ahead of Akron and Richmond in second place in the Western Division and trail first-place Bowie by 4.5 games.
Altoona travels to Bowie to open a four-game set on Monday night. First pitch from Prince George's Stadium is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Lefty Zack Dodson (7-10, 3.91) will start for the Curve while southpaw Chris Lee (4-1, 2.25) starts for the Baysox.
