Pittsburgh Assigns Hartzell to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Pittsburgh Penguins have assigned goaltender Eric Hartzell to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins from the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL), it was announced today
In two appearances this season for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Hartzell went 2-0-0 with a 2.92 goals against average and a .882 save percentage. He has also compiled a record of 5-4-0 for the Nailers in 2014-15, while recording a 2.54 GAA, a .915 save percentage and one shutout.
A 25-year old second-year pro, Hartzell split the 2013-14 season between Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and Wheeling. He went 10-8-1 over 25 games with the Penguins, registering a 2.48 GAA a .901 save percentage, three shutouts and earning AHL Goaltender of the Month honors for January. In 14 contests for Wheeling, Hartzell posted a record of 8-5-1 with a 3.13 GAA, a .900 save percentage and one shutout.
The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins are back in action on Friday, Dec. 19 when they face the Albany Devils at Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza at 7:05 p.m.
